Rovers have bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of Gordon Greer.
The 35-year-old, who left Brighton in May, has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal at Ewood Park following a successful trial.
Greer is no stranger to the club, having initially joined from Clyde in 2001. However, the Scotland international made just one appearance for Rovers - in a 2-0 League Cup victory over Oldham Athletic - and spent time on loan at Stockport County, before returning north of the border with Kilmarnock in 2003.
Spells with Doncaster Rovers and Swindon Town followed, before Greer joined Brighton in 2010. The defender would go on to make 234 appearances and captained the south-coast club, who lost to Sheffield Wednesday in last season's play-offs.
A free agent this summer, Greer featured for Rovers in the pre-season friendlies against Brighton and Girona, before joining the club for a second time.
