Raring to go

6 August 2016

Elliott Bennett admits the team can't wait to get their season underway this afternoon against Norwich City.

The hard yards have all been run in pre-season and now it is back to the nitty gritty of Sky Bet Championship football as Rovers host the Canaries at 3pm.

"We are raring to go and we can't wait," Bennett told Rovers PlayerHD.

"We've worked hard for the six or seven weeks in pre-season all for that first game and the 45 that follow.

"We've had a really good pre-season and we can't wait to get started now."

The Rovers midfielder had a wry smile when the fixtures came out back in June, with the first game of the campaign against his former club, but he'll be treating it just like any other match.

"I think it is a really good game for us to get started with, chucked straight back into the thick of it," he added.

"It is obviously my old club and I still hold a lot of affection for Norwich City, but once you cross that white line, if I get the opportunity to play, there'll be no friends.

"You've just got to go out there and give your all, work as hard as you can for the team and hopefully we can overcome their strengths and impose ourselves on them and win the game.

"I'm really looking forward to being part of it and hopefully we can win."

Season tickets are still on sale ahead of today's opener.  With adult prices from just £279, the equivalent of less than £13 per game!

You can buy in store at the Roverstore at Ewood Park ahead of kick-off.

Fans planning on coming down to the Roverstore to purchase season tickets, or match tickets for the Norwich game, are advised to come down early as large queues are anticipated ahead of the 3.00pm kick-off.
