Owen Coyle was delighted to add defensive reinforcements to his ranks with the capture of Tommie Hoban and Derrick Williams.
Central defender Hoban joins Rovers on a season-long loan from Watford, whilst Williams, who can play in the centre or on the left side of defence, has joined permanently from Bristol City, putting pen-to-paper on the three-year deal.
The Rovers boss admitted he's been after the pair for a number of weeks and was pleased to finally bring them to the club.
"I've been on the trail of both players for a number of weeks and it has taken a bit of time to get them in the building, but we are delighted to now get the both secured," Coyle told Rovers PlayerHD.
"Both lads are really positive to coming on board, both had offers from other places, so the fact that we've been able to secure their signatures, as we did with Martin Samuelsen, speaks volumes about what we are trying to do at the club.
"Tommie Hoban won promotion from the Championship he was outstanding in that promotion campaign, however he picked up an injury. But he's fine now and has got himself back and did well for them in pre-season.
"But with Watford making a couple of signings they want him to get continued development in terms of games which is something that we can provide at Blackburn.
"So we have got a very good player and a player that has shown fantastic quality and we are delighted to secure his services on a years loan.
"Derrick Williams is a player that I have admired for many years from when he was a kid at Aston Villa.
"He went Bristol City and played over a hundred games there. I spoke to Steve Cotterill who was his manager there and he was very complimentary about him, so we felt it would be great to get him in.
"They are both very good defenders, we've been looking for a left back and a centre back so that helps us from a defensive point of view but we've not stopped there.
"We are continuing to look to bring good players to Blackburn Rovers."
Both players have been signed in time to play this afternoon against Fulham. Tickets for the match are on open sale up until the 3pm kick-off priced from £18 for Adults, £12 Concessions and £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
