There was a surprise in store for the youngsters attending the Community Trust’s summer Soccer Camp, as Adam Henley and David Raya took up an invite to join in!
The Rovers duo were special guests at the BRIC, where they took part in some small-sided games, before posing for photos and signing autographs for the excited young fans.
Henley said: “I’ve done this before and I really enjoy it. It’s great to see all the kids out enjoying themselves and keeping fit, and it’s great to join in with them.
“I always see myself as one of those kids and how much I would have appreciated a professional footballer who I’d idolised come down and introduce themselves and join in with us and I feel like myself and David coming and doing that is a great experience for them.
“There were some really talented players out there and these are the kind of things that they need to do to really improve their game. The coaching here is great and it’s fantastic for them to engage with all the different players and staff, and just to enjoy the game, which is the most important thing at their age.”
Raya added: “It’s always good to be with the kids and see them enjoying playing footy at such a young age.
“So it’s great to come here and have a chat with the kids and I try to help them and show them what to do.”
