Rovers' Under-18s kicked off their fortnight in Holland with a 7-0 friendly win over Accrington Stanley earlier today.

The two clubs are in the Netherlands as part of a pre-season trip organised by League Football Education.

Daniel Butterworth grabbed a hat-trick, with Callum Wright, Charley Doyle, Tre Pemberton and Hayden Carter all getting on the scoresheet at the pre-arranged friendly in Mill where the young Rovers are based.

The Academy has also been on an educational visit to a war museum, and last night received a two-hour Dutch language lesson.

On Thursday the coaches from NAC Breda will put the lads through their paces in preparation for the Under-18s match against Feyenoord on Saturday.

The initiative is fully subsidised by the Erasmus+ fund to promote development and the exchange of ideas between coaches and players in both countries. Designed to broaden personal and professional horizons via a range of cultural activities.
