Rovers boss Owen Coyle believes they have added one of the most talented youngsters in the country with the capture of Martin Samuelsen.

The 19-year-old becomes the club's eighth signing of the summer after joining on a season-long loan from West Ham United.

The manager was delighted Rovers were able to move swiftly to secure the services of the exciting attacker, a player he predicts can become a real crowd pleaser.

"Martin Samuelsen is one of the most talented young players in the country," Coyle told Rovers PlayerHD.

"He is a player that we've had to fight a host of clubs to secure the loan, which we have done.

"Some transfers can happen very quickly, others can be prolonged, and in Martin's case it was quite a quick one.

"He went on loan to Peterborough last year and did very well, so the next step was for him to move into the Championship.

"He is a young exciting talent. He is a player that can play anywhere across the front positions. He's an attacking player that can take people on, he's pleasing on the eye, entertaining, and he can create chances and score goals.

"He's already a full international and has been called up by Norway for their World Cup qualifier against Germany next month, so that shows the esteem that the kid is held in."

Samuelsen could make his debut for Rovers this Saturday when Fulham are the visitors to Ewood Park.

Tickets for the match are on open sale up until the 3pm kick-off priced from £18 for Adults, £12 Concessions and £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.

Why not avoid the matchday queues by booking online at and collecting them from the Roverstore collection point before kick-off.
