Owen Coyle is anticipating another tough encounter when Rovers take on Wigan Athletic this Saturday.
The Ewood boss returns to one of his former clubs when Rovers make the short journey to the DW Stadium.
Like Rovers, Wigan lost their opening league match of the season last Saturday, but Coyle felt the Latics didn't get what they deserved.
"I watched the Wigan game against Bristol City and they did very well for huge parts of the game and they were a little bit hard done by to lose as I felt a draw might have been a fairer result," said the Rovers manager.
"We want to go and play well and we have to make sure that we eradicate mistakes and give ourselves a foothold to try and win a tough game.
"It is a game we are looking forward to, we go there off the back of a very good win in midweek looking to go and get another one.
"Gary Caldwell is somebody I know well, he was my skipper, he's a great lad and somebody that I've got a lot of time for and did very well last year with them.
"Wigan Athletic are a good club with a lot of good people, it is ia nice stadium, a nice pitch, so we know it is going to be a good game and a tough game and we have to make sure that we are at our best to go and get the three points."
