The fans have been brilliant

30 April 2016

Paul Lambert has praised the support he has received from the fans during his time in charge of the football club.

The Scot, who will leave his position as Rovers boss when the 2015-16 season draws to a close next Saturday, has thanked the supporters for their backing and hopes they can cheer the team to victory this afternoon when they take on Rotherham United.

"The fans have been absolutely brilliant since I've been here," said Lambert.

"They've been through the wringer for a number of years, so hopefully they'll come on Saturday and get right behind us which I'm sure they will.

"It is the last away game and there will always been a good atmosphere. And hopefully at home next week it will be busy and they get behind us again.

"I've got nothing but thanks to them, they've backed us all the way, even when we've not picked up results they've never criticised.

"I wish them all the best for the future and a massive thanks from myself to them. They have treated me really well."
