Spurr to miss Forest clash

19 April 2016

Rovers will still be without Tommy Spurr for this evening's match against Nottingham Forest.

The full back has missed the last three games with an achilles problem and won't be available for tonight's clash at the City Ground.

Boss Paul Lambert has revealed that he thought that could be Spurr's season done when he picked up the injury, but he is hopeful the defender will be available before the end of the campaign.

"Tommy Spurr is still struggling with his achilles," said Lambert. "But hopefully it is not as bad as what we first thought.

"Aside from that I don't think we are too bad."

Craig Conway sits out the final game of his three-match ban, whilst Danny Graham is still troubled by a tight hamstring and may miss out. Jason Lowe is pushing for a recall after his 45 minutes at right back on Saturday with Lambert admitting he is tempted to freshen up his squad.

"We'll try our utmost to try and utilise everybody," added the Scot. "We'll look at the other ones as we've another game on Saturday as well.

"Danny still has that tightness but hopefully he'll be okay as he has been a big player for us.

"We need him, we need everybody for the last four games, so it is important that we try and get everybody through the games that are fit.

"I thought Jason did well again, I just left him out because of the two games after each other and I wasn't quite sure I would get what I got out of him at Wolves.

"But the half will have done him the world of good and to be fair I thought he did well."
