Paul Lambert believes tomorrow's match against Preston North End is the perfect game to return to after the recent internationals.

Following the win over Brentford before the break, Rovers have a Lancashire derby at Ewood Park to look forward to, and with the club anticipating their largest attendance to date this season, the boss excited about the lunchtime clash.

"When you come back from an international break every one is ready to go again, it takes a few days to get the stiffness out but we'll be ready for Saturday," said Lambert.

"It will be a great game to come back to because there'll be a great atmosphere.

"Whenever you are in an international break if you manage to win the game going into it then it gives you that two week respite. If you lose it you've two weeks to dwell on it.

"So to win it, and in the circumstances that we had, was huge for us, so from that point of view psychologically it was great.

"Hopefully everybody will be up for us, the crowd and the players as it is a derby game.

"I know how big it is to the fans. Okay it might not be Blackburn Rovers vs Burnley but it is still a big game with a big crowd.

"So it will be a good atmosphere, we are at home and we are playing well enough to win."
