Jason Lowe will get more game time when the Under-21s take on Arsenal this Friday evening.

The Rovers midfielder has been steadily building up his fitness with two previous outings for the development squad and will get more minutes under his belt against the Gunners at Leigh Sports Village.

Damien Johnson's young squad come up against an Arsenal side that are chasing top spot in the division. This evening's opponents sit in third place with five games left play, and have three matches in hand on table toppers Derby County.

But Rovers can take heart from their performance when the two sides met at Arsenal's training ground back in January.

The Gunners raced into a three-goal lead, but a Lewis Mansell brace lead to a nervy ending as the home side held on to claim the points.

ROVERS: Eastwood, Travis, Askew, Tomlinson, Lavelle (c), Wharton, Mahoney, Lowe, Forrester, Hardcastle, Wall.

Subs: Platt, Fisher (GK), Doyle, Rankin-Costello, Mansell.

ARSENAL: Huddart, Moore, Pileas, McGuane, Bielik, Pleguezuelo, Sheaf, Da Silva, Malen, Gnabry, Crowley.

Subs: Eyoma, Keto, Mourgos, Bola, Nketiah.
