Jason Lowe will make a welcome return to the squad for tomorrow's match against Sheffield Wednesday.

After completing his first 90 minutes since August for the Under-21s on Friday night, the midfielder will travel with the rest of the first team for Tuesday's clash at Hillsborough.

Boss Paul Lambert doesn't see Lowe starting the game against the Owls, but he could be named amongst the substitutes.

"Jason will be in the squad," revealed the Rovers manager on Monday afternoon.

"It will be the first time I'll have seen him in and about the group. I've seen him in training and things have been going well and he's played a couple of Under-21 games.

"He's really the only player that we haven't seen so we'll have to take a look at him.

"He couldn't start but there's a good chance that Jason could be on the bench. We'll have a look at it and we'll see how he's feeling.

"He hasn't been involved since the start of the season so you just hope that the foot is alright and he's ready to play if he's called upon."

But whilst Lowe could return, Rovers will be without Tony Watt and Corry Evans.

Watt will have a scan this afternoon on the groin injury sustained just minutes into Saturday's match against Preston, whilst Tuesday's match comes to soon for Irish international Evans after an operation.

Lambert added: "Tony will have a scan this afternoon and we'll see how he is, whether it is bad or moderate I'm not too sure.

"I'm not a medical person but if you come off in a game after six minutes then the signs are not good. So we'll have to wait and see. This game is a little early for Corry, he'll be maybe looking at next Saturday."

Shane Duffy will serve a one-match ban following his second off, Grant Hanley is available once more after serving his suspension for a similar offence.
