Lambert's praise for Under-21s

Paul Lambert has wished the Under-21s luck as they play their final game of the regular season this Monday evening.

Damien Johnson's side could clinch a place in the end of season promotion play-offs if they avoid defeat against Aston Villa at Leigh Sports Village tonight - kick-off 7.00pm.

The young Rovers go into their final game in fine form having won their last four league matches, and Lambert feels it would be the perfect reward for a strong campaign.

"It will be great for them as I think they have had a good year," Lambert told Rovers PlayerHD.

"Damien, and obviously now with Dunny coming in, has helped the kids and got them going.

"But I've always said that the kids here looking at them are a good little group. The FA Youth Cup has helped them enormously and the times that I've seen them they have done ever so well.

"It will be a hard game, but hopefully if they do as they have been doing of late then they'll win."

Fans can gain free admission to tonight's match at Leigh by completing the form on the Leigh Sports Village website.
