Lack of consistency has been costly

Elliott Bennett knows that the team's inability to string a run of results together has not helped their cause this season.

The January signing admits that whilst performances on the whole have been good, the inability to turn them into points has been costly.

As the midfielder prepares to face former club Bristol City at Ewood on Saturday, Bennett is eager finish the season strongly by winning the remaining three matches.

"We've probably got what we've deserved when we've not played well, not winning games," said the 27-year-old.

"Then when we have performed well we've not picked up the points that maybe our performances have warranted. That is sometimes how it goes in the Championship

"I'm sure anyone connected with the club would agree that it hasn't been good enough. But we are where we are. The table doesn't lie after 43 games and it is up to us now to instill something back into the club and get everyone on board that is connected with Blackburn to have a right good go at it and see where we can finish.

"So we are hoping to put on some good performances for the last three games but also pick up some points before we go off for the summer."
