Great to be back playing

Jason Lowe admitted it felt like he was making his Rovers debut all over again in Saturday's draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After almost eight months out with a troublesome foot injury, the Rovers midfielder made his long-awaited return to first team action, playing the full 90 minutes at Molineux.

Lowe wasn't told he was playing until just before the teams were announced an hour before kick-off, but was delighted to come through the match untroubled.

"It is great, it has been a long time so just to get out there it is great to be back in the fold playing," said Lowe.

"The buzz is back and obviously I've worked very hard to get back and now I'm just getting some rewards towards the end of the season.

"I didn't know I was playing until the last minute but when you are in the squad and you are travelling you prepare as though you are playing anyway. I was ready to go if needed and when I saw my name up in the starting eleven I was excited.

"There's always those jitters, it's been that long it felt like a little debut even though I've played enough games for the club, but once the game settles down and you've made your first pass the adrenaline settles down and you focus on what your job is and play the game normally."

After getting a first 90 minutes under his belt since August, the aim for Lowe now is to get as much game time as possible between now and the end of the season.

He added: "It was just great to get through the 90 minutes, I felt good so hopefully I can build on that.

"It is one of them, there are not many games left, it is a case of making sure we are safe and not down there in the last two or three games.

"If I could extend the season I would but it is just the way it has been. I'm glad to be back playing some part of this season and hopefully I can enjoy the next few games and get a few more under my belt and go into the summer feeling fit."

Lowe and Rovers are back in action this Saturday when they take on Huddersfield Town at Ewood Park.

Tickets for this match are available in the Blackburn End and Darwen End at the fantastic price of just £10 for Adults, £5 for Seniors and 18-21 year-olds and just £2 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
