Elliott Ward believes this evening's match against Sheffield Wednesday gives Rovers the perfect opportunity to get Saturday's result out of their system.
The Rovers defender marked his return to the starting line-up with his first goal in blue and white, but despite the result against Preston, he feels the team can go to Hillsborough and cause an upset.
Ward believes the pressure will be all on the Owls as they look to consolidate a top six position.
"The beauty of football is we now have another chance, I know it is a cliché but it is true," said the central defender.
"It is a big game, the pressure will be on them as they are at home. They need to win to keep in the top six and everyone will expect them to win which is perfect.
"There's always a confidence that we can do something on the day, so we'll go there and look to do them some damage.
"They are pushing for the top six and that is their aim, we are pushing for the next win, that is our short-term aim.
"We feel that we can go there, play our football and if we give half of what we gave the other day we've got a hell of a chance.
"We aren't writing the season off, we want to win as many games as possible, finish high, and on a high as well, and then we'll go again in the summer.
"But right now it is all about game-by-game and showing the league that we are a very good team."
