Gary Bowyer believes he has some real competition for places up front after Tom Lawrence's impressive cameo at the weekend.
The Leicester loanee set up Rovers' second for Jordan Rhodes in the 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic, before scoring the final goal himself with a thunderbolt of a shot.
The Rovers boss was delighted with the way the Welsh international performed alongside Rhodes in the weekend victory, to give him somewhat of a selection headache ahead of Saturday's trip to Hull City.
"We know, because we've seen him grow up, that he has that ability," said the manager.
"What he has had to do is be patient since the Brighton game for his opportunity.
"But what he does do is he brings a different dimension to us. He got into some great positions and he has some great technical ability as you saw with his goal, it was an outstanding finish from him."
Bowyer also believes that fellow forward Fode Koita is getting better game by game.
The French youngster is yet to find the back of the net for his new team, but the manager feels the striker is really starting to show promise.
"I thought Fode Koita again showed the progress that he is making," he added.
"Once he gets more and more time and gets used to the English game then he is going to be some player for us.
"I thought with his power, pace and strength that he bullied the defenders, and then we were able to bring Tom on who took up some great positions.
"So the competition is hot, and you can't forget Nathan Delfouneso and the impact that he has had since he's been here, so we've got good competition in quite a few areas now so it is good."
Rovers are back on their travels next Saturday when they face Hull City at the KC Stadium.
