Ready for the challenge of Charlton

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer expects another tough encounter when his side take on Charlton Athletic at Ewood Park this Saturday afternoon.

The manager was in the crowd at the Valley on Tuesday night to see the Addicks lose 2-1 at home to Huddersfield Town, and he expects today's visitors will want to show a reaction.

Rovers were victorious over Charlton on no less than three occasions last season, doing the double over them in the league and beating them in the third round of the FA Cup on their way to the quarter-finals, but Bowyer doesn't believe those results will have a bearing on today's game.

"They've gone through a big transition in terms of the number of players that they have brought in in the summer," said the boss. "They've spent some money on some good players.

"I went and watched them the other night when they played Huddersfield and they'll be raw from that defeat.

"But they've got some good players and I like their manager, I was impressed with him when we went down there last season, I like listening to his opinion on football.

"He is passionate and he'll have them ready for the challenge on Saturday."

Tickets for Saturday's match against Charlton are on open sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off with prices from just £18 for Adults, £12 for Seniors aged 65 and over, £12 for 18-21 year-olds and from £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
