Tom Lawrence was delighted to play his part in Rovers' first win of the season on Saturday against Charlton Athletic.
The Rovers' loanee made a devastating impact as a second half substitute, showing a great bit of skill to tee up Jordan Rhodes for the second of the game, before blasting home his first goal in a blue and white shirt to complete a memorable afternoon for the 21-year-old.
Lawrence felt that the win was nothing more than they deserved, having felt Rovers were unlucky in their last few outings.
"It couldn't have gone any better," Lawrence told Radio Rovers.
"I'm just grateful that we got the win because in the last two games the lads have deserved the win but have not quite got it, so it is great to get the three points.
"There's nothing better than scoring and getting the three points, that is the main thing.
"The lads have been so unlucky in the last few weeks but it was only a matter of time really. It is a good group of lads, they kept going, we were due a win and we've got it."
Lawrence has had to be patient since making his debut against Brighton & Hove Albion last month, but he hopes his cameo display will give him more game time.
"Hopefully now I can play more, I've come here to play games and that is what I want to do," he added.
"I want to help the team and get as many wins as we can.
"We've now got Hull, one of the bigger teams in this league, but we can take the momentum out of the Charlton game into that game and try to win."
