Boss Gary Bowyer believes that having returned action last Friday in the draw with Bolton, Jordan Rhodes will only get better with more minutes on the pitch.

The Rovers striker missed a large chunk of pre-season after sustaining an ankle injury in the first match of the summer against Accrington Stanley, and then further aggravated the knock after a bad challenge in the second league game of the season at Huddersfield.

But having missed the matches against Cardiff and Brighton, the Scottish international impressed in coming through 90 minutes against Bolton Wanderers.

"Jordan is only going to get better with more game time," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.

"I thought he did tremendously well to last the full 90 against Bolton. He had two great headers, two good opportunities.

"He's missed pre-season and he's missed the start of the season for us really, so he is only going to get better with his timing and get better with match fitness."

Rhodes and Rovers return to action after the international break with a trip to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday 13th September, kick-off 12.00pm.

Tickets for the match are currently on open sale priced at £25 for Adults, £20 for Seniors aged 65 & over, £20 for 17 - 21’s and £15 for Juniors aged 16 and under.
