Callum Hendry marked his first start in a Clitheroe shirt with a brace in a 3-1 win on Tuesday evening.
The young Rover, who joined the Evo-Stik First Division North side on work experience last week, scored two headed goals to help the Blues defeat Kendal Town.
Clitheroe's Michael Hampson gave the visitors the lead, but Kendal levelled on 20 through Rob Wilson, before Hendry stole the show.
The 17-year-old ensured Clitheroe would lead at the break with a goal six minutes before half-time, and then wrapped up the away victory with a second header three minutes from the end.
Clitheroe are next on Emirates FA Cup duty this Saturday when they travel to take on Marine in the first qualifying round.
• It was also a successful weekend for the other Rover out on loan as Jordan Preston notched a double for Ayr United in a 5-2 win over Stenhousemuir.
The striker, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Scottish First Division club last season, got his account for this year up and running with two goals in an emphatic home win.
