Convert the performances into points

26 September 2015

Gary Bowyer believes Rovers are putting in some of their best displays since taking charge of the club.

The team has had to adjust their style of play due to some high-profile departures this summer, but the manager feels they are starting to reap the benefits.

Rovers have been the dominant side in almost all of their games so far this season, but the points haven't matched up to the performances.

However, after their first win of the season last time out against Charlton Athletic, the manager can see real signs of progress.

"Some of the football we are playing and the chances that we are creating are the best since we've been here," he said.

"We've asked the players to play a different way this year, I think it is safe to say that when we had Rudy Gestede it provided our lads with an easy option to ping it up there to him.

"Now there's a lot more cleverness going into the play, a lot more thought going into the play, and we've asked them to do that and they are really taking that on.

"As a result we've created far more chances and we've got to keep that belief and keep doing that.

"Full credit to the players, they've had to adapt and change and you are seeing the results of that at this moment in time.

"We've now got to convert the performances into results and picking up points."
