Two Rovers youngsters have been handed the chance to further their development by gaining valuable game time at lower league clubs.
Ben Williams, 16, and Callum Hendry, 17, have joined fellow Lancashire sides Morecambe and Clitheroe respectively on work experience.
Left-back Williams links up with the League Two side's Under-18 squad, whilst attacker Hendry makes the short journey to join the Evo-Stik First Division North outfit.
"We've got a good relationship with Morecambe and they are struggling with injuries, so we've helped them out," explained Rovers' Head of Academy Eric Kinder.
"Ben isn't in the Academy starting XI at the moment so it is a great chance for him to get some football for a month.
"With Callum, he hasn't yet managed to force his way into the Under-18 squad and Clitheroe were looking for some back-up up front, so it will do him the world of good to be involved with mens football.
"He has had a lot of time out with injury, so it is a great opportunity for him to get some minutes under his belt at a hugely competitive level."
Morecambe's Academy are at home to Fleetwood this Saturday, whilst Clitheroe travel to take on Spennymoor Town.
Both players can return to train with Rovers and play for the Under-21s and Under-18s whilst on work experience at their respective clubs.
