Ben Marshall believes Rovers have laid down a marker with the way they performed in the win over Ipswich Town at the weekend.
Having been on the wrong end of a few contentious decisions this season, the midfielder always felt that a display and result was coming, and was delighted to see their hard work fully rewarded with all three points.
After the impressive performance against the Tractor Boys, Marshall knows that they'll have to put in more of the same to quickly move up the table.
"We started well which put them on the back foot, Jordan got his goals and then we just built on it from there," Marshall told Radio Rovers.
"I think that is the hardest we have worked since I've been here and I think the crowd appreciated that.
"That is what we needed to to and we know that if we work hard then the rewards will come and that is what has happened.
"I think we knew it was always coming, but I do think that we have been very unlucky this season with the chances that we've had and the decisions that have not gone our way.
"But we can't be one of those teams that says it didn't go our way, but against Ipswich it was what we've been waiting for.
"I think in the last month we have played well and we've shown what we are about and the win it was the icing on the cake.
"Obviously Ipswich were in the play-offs last year and they've been known as a team that over-powers other teams.
"But I think we did that to them and we should definitely take that on board and go and do that to other teams."
