Grant Hanley says that he and the rest of the players are relishing the derby game with Burnley this Saturday afternoon.
Rovers go into the lunchtime clash off the back of four consecutive clean sheets at Ewood Park and the defender is eager to see that continue to delight the home support.
Hanley admits that anticipation has been building ahead of the match and is delighted that it is finally here.
"It is the one that you look for at the start of the season," said the Rovers captain.
"It's been a while coming around but it is here now so the lads are right up for it.
"We all know what it means to everyone around the club, the fans and the staff, it is a big game but it is just three points at the end of the day so that is what we are looking to get out of it.
"We are at home, the atmosphere is going to be second to none, so the lads are all looking forward to it. We know what we've got to do, we need to be professional, play the game and not the occasion."
Burnley have had a good start to the season but the Scottish international believes the way Rovers played in the midweek draw with Derby County shows that they can be a match foor any team in the division.
"We can definitely take the positives from the way we played on Wednesday forward into this game," he added.
"The pressure will be on them, they've come down from the Premier League and they still have a lot of the players from when they were up there.
"We are looking forward to this one now, we are on a good run, we are playing well and feel like our performance levels are high.
"We are at home where we've been playing well and have been tough to play against so we'll be focusing on taking the positives from Wednesday, try to put on another performance like that, and try to score a couple of goals for the fans."
