The display of Chris Taylor on his return to first team action last night delighted boss Gary Bowyer.
The Rovers midfielder made his first appearance of the season in the 0-0 draw with Derby County, his first outing since March following a troublesome groin injury.
Taylor had arguably the best chance of the night when he headed an 8th minute corner narrowly wide, but aside from that early miss the 28-year-old was one of the standout performers in an encouraging display against the form team of the division.
"I think if it wasn't his first game his timing might have been just slightly better," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.
"To get one so early in the game when he was just easing himself into it. It was a great opportunity for him.
"But I thought he was outstanding and epitomised everything that we were about tonight.
"It was his first game for a long, long time, the energy levels, the desire and the passion that he brings was there for all to see.
"It is infectious and it rubs off on everybody."
