Adam Henley was delighted to be able play his part in ensuring Rovers went into the international break on a high after Saturday's victory over Ipswich Town.

A first half brace from Jordan Rhodes was enough to see Rovers claim a second home win in succession and their third clean sheet in a row at Ewood Park.

The defender, who now links up with Wales for their forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers, felt the result was fully deserved as they prevented Mick McCarthy's side from scoring for the first time in 22 league outings.

"It is what everyone needed at the end of this block of games that we've had," Henley told Radio Rovers.

"We feel as a team that we have really come together in our performances and have started to show what we can do.

"The win just puts the icing on the cake before the international break. The gaffer had stressed how important it was to end the month right, so to get a clean sheet and a solid win is fantastic. It is great to put on a performance for the fans."

The 21-year-old believes there is a real buzz amongst the players and feels their togetherness is helping to turn the performances into more points.

"The players are playing for each other and there is a really good vibe around the squad, things are starting to click for us," he added.

"It can be like that in football, earlier in the season it wasn't falling for us but now it is all starting to come together, every area of the team is doing well.

"As a back four we are happy that we've put in some solid performances and a couple of clean sheets, in all areas everybody is pulling their weight and I think that has been really important in the last few weeks.

"Jordan has been unbelievable, his form has been fantastic and when you've got a player like that playing for you, you just keep giving him the ball and providing him with the service to score goals."

Rovers are back in action after the international break when they travel to face MK Dons at stadium:MK.
