Creative Support’s football league, in partnership with the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, is now halfway through its fourth season.
, which takes place once a month at the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre, seeks to address the isolation, stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health and emotional wellbeing. It also supports and addresses issues around drug and alcohol misuse, homelessness and social isolation.
In an enjoyable, community environment, the football league provides opportunities for participation in a friendly football competition, while further contributing towards encouraging and supporting individuals to make healthier lifestyle choices.
It also seeks to promote self confidence, self esteem and peer support amongst service-users taking part and endeavours to promote social interaction, community cohesion and partnership working.
