Rovers stars Grant Hanley and Danny Guthrie showed off their skills at the Community Trust’s half-term Soccer School and Activity Camp.
Young Rovers fans, aged 5-12, shared the pitch and took part in small-sided games with the two players.
Both Grant and Danny were then quizzed by the youngsters in a short question and answer session, before posing for photos and signing autographs.
Danny, who is closing in on a return to fitness, said: “It’s good to see the youngsters come down and get involved.
“I’ve got two kids myself, my little girl is four and my little boy is two, and this is probably something they will be doing sooner rather than later.
“It’s good to get involved and see how much they actually love it. I enjoyed it and it’s a very good scheme for them. It’s good to have these links – one of the kids could end up in the Academy and come through to our first team.”
Grant added: “It’s good to come down and see the kids. They’re on a break from school and it’s good that they’re down here playing football.
“They’re enjoying their football, but it’s also good for us. Myself and Danny came down and joined in and it was a really good laugh. I enjoyed it.
“It’s brilliant that the club are involved with the local community. It has always been a big deal here and the club are great with the community stuff.
“I always enjoy coming out to events like this, especially when you can have a kick-about with the young lads.”
