Spread the goals around

Paul Lambert knows Rovers are going to have to share the goal burden around if they are to have a successful campaign.

Top goalscorer Jordan Rhodes has eight goals to his name, more than half of Rovers' tally this season, something the boss knows have to change.

"Everybody has to try and chip in, they can't just leave the burden to Jordan, it is too much to carry," said Lambert.

"So if we can get goals from different areas of the pitch, because we've got a talented offensive group here that can make things happen, they've got to take the responsibility as well of chipping in with a few goals."

This Saturday sees Rovers come up against one of the meanest defences in the Championship. Preston North End have conceded just 13 goals in the league this season, keeping clean sheets on their last six outings.

So the Rovers boss knows that if they are to come away from Deepdale with all three points, they are going to have to breach the Lilywhites' defence.

"If we want to win the game then we have to," he added.

"We are going to have to score and take it on the front foot and play really well.

"We aren't going to go there and sit and try and bed ourselves in, it is a game that I want to go and win."

Tickets for today's match at Preston North End have all sold out to Rovers fans so why not listen to full match commentary on Rovers PlayerHD. Our broadcast will start at approximately 2.45pm.
