Platt pens pro deal

23 November 2015

Matthew Platt has signed his first professional contract with the football club.

The promising central defender has put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year deal until the summer of 2018.

Matty has come through the Academy ranks at Rovers, making 27 appearances for the Under-18s in his first full year last season.

This campaign has seen him take the step up to the Under-21s, scoring on both starts for Damien Johnson's development squad in the wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league, and against Burnley in the Under-21 Premier League Cup.

Platt was on the scoresheet once more at the weekend as the Under-18s drew 2-2 with Manchester City.
