Hope Akpan is determined that Rovers follow up last Thursday's victory over Leeds United, by claiming another positive result on the road this evening at Birmingham City.

The Rovers midfielder knows how important it is in the Championship to get a run of wins together as they head to St. Andrew's looking for another three-point haul.

Rovers make the trip to the midlands full of confidence, with Akpan admitting that the players can't wait for tonight's match.

"In this league back-to-back wins are everything and if you can put a string of wins together then it can turn the table on it's head," said Akpan.

"That is what we are focused on, we want to go to Birmingham and produce the same performance levels and make sure that we do what we can to get the three points. There are going to be opportunities for us to do that.

"After Thursday's result you just want to get back out and try and produce again. The lads are confident that we can get the right result so everyone is raring to go.

"We are a strong bunch of lads who are determined to do well and that can only bode well for the season. In the dressing room we say that in this league we haven't got anything to fear.

"We know Birmingham are doing well and we have to be very wary of their threats. They've got quick players up front who can cause problems, so if we can isolate those players and dampen their threat then we've got a chance.

"We are going to stick to what we are doing well and we are going to try and get the points again."
