Paul Lambert hopes the injury to Tom Lawrence sustained in Saturday's win over Preston North End isn't too serious.
The Welsh international was off the pitch at the time when Rovers grabbed the opening goal at Deepdale but was unable to continue after treatment.
The Rovers boss isn't sure of the reason for his withdrawal, but he's hopeful that it isn't anything overly concerning.
"I'm not sure if it was a kick or a little bit of tightness," said the manager.
"That could have been due to training but I know that is going to happen. If we don't train with that intensity then we won't get up to speed.
"So these little things might occur, but in order to do that you've got to maybe sacrifice sometimes and maybe get a little knock or a strain, so hopefully Tom's is just a knock."
Rovers are back in action next Saturday when Sheffield Wednesday are the vistors for Paul Lambert's first game in charge at Ewood Park.
Tickets for the game are on open sale with prices from £22 for Adults, from £14 Seniors and 18-21 year-olds and from just £9 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
