Striking sensations

1 May 2015

The battle between Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede to finish the club's top scorer this season goes down to the wire against Ipswich Town this Saturday.

Rhodes has 20 league goals to his name, whilst Gestede has 19, but his 2 goals in the FA Cup this season puts the Benin international one ahead of his strike partner in the overall charts.

But despite another superb return in front of goal, boss Gary Bowyer still believes there is more to come from the two front men.

"It is a fantastic return from the pair of them," said the manager.

"They are both different types of players but their goals record this season speaks volumes for the pair of them.

"There is still improvement from both of them to come in their all-round game and that is pleasing for us.

"These players have got an unbelievable desire to be the best that they can be. We should applaud that attitude and we should respect that attitude and be grateful that we have these players in our football club."

See the striker showdown this Saturday when Rovers take on Ipswich Town in the final game this season at Ewood Park tomorrow.
