Rovers stars Tom Cairney and Chris Brown proved to be a ‘class act’ after being given a grilling about their careers on and off the pitch on a visit to a local school.
The attacking duo took part in several Question and Answer sessions with pupils at Meadowhead Junior School to promote the Premier League Reading Stars programme.
The children participating in the project had shown a desire to push themselves to read more and reap the benefits that it brings.
The students came up with questions to quiz the Rovers duo on a range of topics, including football, lifestyle and, most importantly, their reading habits.
The players, who were representing the club’s Community Trust, gave honest and amusing answers, and then showcased their skills in front of the excited crowd.
Jonny Ellithorn, of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, said: "A big thanks to both Chris and Tom, who answered all questions that came their way. It was also very interesting to hear the reading habits of both players and which type of books they both like to read.
“Built around the work we do in the local community, Meadowhead Juniors is a school that we are hoping to build a great relationship with and build fans for the future, and the increased player involvement in schools we’ve had this season can only help that."
