Ewood Park Soccer Day... for children!

Ewood Park is set to burst back into life after the season has finished as hundreds of excited young fans get set for their chance to be pros for the day.

The doors to the famous stadium will be opened up to junior supporters aged between 5 and 11 on Saturday 9th May 2015 for their chance to take part in the Blackburn Rovers Ewood Park Stadium Soccer Day, where they will be able to tread the hallowed turf and have their chance to say they’ve scored the winner at the same end of the ground, like their heroes David Dunn or Jordan Rhodes!
A four hour session from 10am-2pm (9.15am registration), will give those attending will be the chance to experience the thrill of preparing in the same tunnel and changing rooms as their favourite Rovers players, before stepping out onto the top class playing surface for a quality training experience from the club’s Community Trust including a series of small-sided games.
Every participant will receive a Rovers certificate of participation and a special gift as a memento of their day.
Gary Robinson, Head of Community for the Football League North West Community Club of the Year 2014/15, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, is looking forward to welcoming the excited youngsters, explaining:
“Every child that sets foot inside Ewood Park must dream of being able to go out there and play on the same surface that has been graced by some of the most famous players in world football, and we’re delighted to be able to give them that opportunity at a very affordable rate.
“Our coaches receive wonderful feedback for the work they undertake with schools and community groups on a daily basis, and they’re really keen to help put a smile on every child’s face as they step inside this historic stadium and enjoy an experience that will last a lifetime, as well as teaching them some new skills along the way.”
Places for the morning sessions are expected to sell quickly, with prices set at just £20 per child.

Registration will take place at the Players' Entrance in the Jack Walker Stand from 9.15am, with collection at 2pm from the same location.Participants are asked to bring football boots, shin pads, suitable clothing, waterproofs and a packed lunch/refreshments.
