Gary Bowyer once again praised the team's character and commitment as they left it late to defeat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 on Wednesday night.
The much coveted Jordan Rhodes was the man of the moment with a 94th minute strike to secure all three points for Rovers.
The home side had dominated the match for long spells, but although Bolton threatened to snatch all three points late on, it was Rhodes who slammed home Doneil Henry's header from Tom Cairney's corner.
After the weekend exertions at Anfield, Bowyer was impressed with the way his side performed against the Trotters, and felt they fully deserved all three points.
"It was no more then we deserved," Bowyer told Radio Rovers. "I thought we were terrific today.
"The character, the desire, the attitude of the players was top class.
"Mentally was a big day for us on Sunday, so for them to come out and put a performance on like that is incredible from them.
"They rightly deserve all the praise again tonight, I thought they were terrific from start to finish.
"Bolton mugged us at their place and I thought they were going to do it again tonight.
"The players kept going and it is a fantastic goal to score. A fantastic header from Doneil Henry on his home debut, and Jordan does what he does, he scores goals and that is exactly what happens."
Rovers are back in action this weekend when they take on Charlton Athletic at the Valley.
