Under-21s to play Stoke City

20 March 2015

Rovers Under-21s play their second match this week when they take on Stoke City this Friday, kick-off 3.00pm.

After their encouraging 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Monday, Eric Kinder's side now play the Potters at their training ground this afternoon.

When the two sides met at Leigh Sports Village back in September Rovers ran out comfortable 5-2 winners.

Connor Mahoney and Dean Rittenberg both scored twice, whilst Modou Cham added another in an impressive display. So they'll be out to claim a league double over Stoke City later today.

With the first team in action on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion, Kinder has named a youthful squad once more.

Jack Doyle returns to the starting line-up after a knee injury. Whilst there's a first Under-21 start for Academy forward Luke Wall.

ROVERS: Raya, Nyambe, Doyle, Thomson, Lavelle, Daly, Carson (c), Bauress, Green, Tanner, Wall.

Subs: Rittenberg, Crump, Cham, Hardcastle, Edgar. After their encouraging 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Monday, Eric Kinder's side now play the Potters at their training ground this afternoon.
