A designated smoking area at the Darwen End of the ground will be trialled at tomorrow night's game.

Following concerns surrounding the issues of smoking in the concourse areas at home matches, the club will trial a half-time smoking area during the home fixture against Brentford on Tuesday evening.

This designated area will be in the home section of the lower tier in the Bryan Douglas Darwen End Stand. Should this trial prove to be successful then the scheme will be rolled out to other areas of the ground. The process will be as follows:-

Five minutes before the half-time whistle the final exit doors numbered SX07 (directly next to Turnstile Block ‘R’) will be opened to allow supporters to leave the enclosed area of the concourse and enter an area designated by barriers.

Supporters will not be allowed go beyond this area nor will others be allowed to enter from outside it. The area will remain open throughout the half-time period and close when the second half commences.

The club would ask that all supporters using this facility adhere to the above conditions in the interests of all for whom smoking/not smoking is a concern.
