Make the most of our momentum

Tom Cairney is keen to put pressure on the sides above them by defeating Brentford this evening.

The midfielder knows a result in tonight's match against the Bees will edge them closer to the top six, but insists it won't be easy against Mark Warburton's high flying side.

Rovers do go into the game full of confidence off the back of recent results, with Cairney believing that the momentum is firmly behind them.

"Three wins in a row and everybody starts looking up," Cairney told Rovers Player.

"We've still got a lot to do, everybody knows that, we'll just concentrate on ourselves and let them above us worry and we'll creep up on them if we can.

"We are still a little bit way off it, but if we can beat Brentford then the gap will be even closer and that's why it's such a big game. It would be a big win if we manage it.

"It won't be easy, they are a good side, but we've hit a bit of momentum, which is big in football, and as you saw last season we went on a great run but we've got to do it again and maybe just a little bit more to get there.

"We know it is tough and we know it will be hard but it won't be for the lack of trying if we don't get there."
