Gary Bowyer was delighted to see Adam Henley finally break his goalscoring duck in sensational style on Wednesday night.
The 20-year-old grabbed the all-important second goal as Rovers defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. His first career strike in senior football.
Bowyer revealed that he had been finding the back of the net regularly in training in recent weeks, and having seen him score since the age of 11, was delighted to see the defender finally get a goal.
"He's been scoring in training and it has continued tonight," The Rovers boss told Rovers Player. "It is fantastic for him, I'm delighted.
"It is his first career goal and what a goal, I remember him when he was an Under-11 and Under-12 when he was a centre-forward and he used to get in like that.
"It was an unbelievable goal, a great team goal, he started it and it was a fabulous finish."
