Bowyer waits on injury news

Gary Bowyer hopes Matt Kilgallon, Markus Olsson and Lee Williamson could be fit to face Brentford at Ewood Park this Tuesday evening.

Kilgallon and Olsson missed Saturday's impressive 3-1 away win over Charlton Athletic with hip and hamstring injuries respectively, whilst Williamson came off during the victory at the Valley with a slight groin strain.

The Rovers boss is hopeful that at least two of those could return, but Craig Conway and Doneil Henry, who also limped out of the Charlton match, will be absent.

"We've got one or two bodies back which helps us massively as it is well documented that we've not got the biggest of squads," said Bowyer.

'We'll know more on Craig and Doneil as they are both having scans. Lee should be alright, he was sensible and spotted it and made sure that it didn't get any worse.

"Matt Kilgallon and Markus Olsson should be close, we'll give it as long as we can."

The manager also reported progress on the return to fitness of a trio of players who have been absent for the past month. But whilst Grant Hanley, David Dunn and Josh King are now back outside working with the physios, tonight's match, and Saturday's game against Brighton, probably come too soon.

Bowyer added: "Grant Hanley, David Dunn and Josh King did a little bit out on the grass yesterday but we are just going to go steady with it at the moment. They are heading in the right direction.

"We've played 19 games since January and it would take it's toll on anyone else, but the lads have been superb. Whoever puts the shirt on just goes and gives a right shift and you saw that again on Saturday.

"We've got two big games now and then the international break will come at a good time for us and give the players a break that they richly deserve at this moment in time."
