Gary Bowyer will leave it as long as possible to see if Rovers' injury concerns improve ahead of Sunday's showdown with Liverpool.

Already without Shane Duffy after a knee operation, Rovers are sweating on the fitness of fellow defenders Grant Hanley (calf) and Alex Baptiste (hamstring) for the FA Cup clash.

The Lancashire club will also be without Jason Lowe (foot), David Dunn (calf) and hat-trick hero from the last round Josh King who has a hamstring strain.

Speaking on Friday the manager said: "We are going to leave it as late as we can with Grant Hanley and Alex Baptiste. So we'll know a little bit more tomorrow.

"David Dunn has a calf injury, so everybody is disappointed for him on that because he had just got back. So hopefully he can come back quickly.

"With Josh King it is a tricky one because it is a hamstring so you've to go day-by-day really with it. So we'll just continue to monitor his progress but there's no certain timescale put on it."

Jay Spearing also misses the match due to being cup-tied having featured for Bolton against Liverpool in the fourth round.

Missed out on a ticket for Anfield? Then why not watch the big match in Blues Bar this Sunday, doors open from 11.00am.

Rovers Player subscribers can listen to full match commentary online from 3.30pm.
