Gary Bowyer is hopeful that Corry Evans and Markus Olsson will be fit to face Charlton Athletic this Saturday.
The first team pair both limped out of Wednesday night's win over Bolton Wanderers, but the Rovers boss will leave it as late as he can to determine whether they'll be fit enough for the trip to the Valley.
Whilst those two could be missing, Jay Spearing and Alex Baptiste come back into the squad to face the Addicks after being ineligible to play against their parent club in midweek.
Jason Lowe (foot), David Dunn (calf), Shane Duffy (knee), Grant Hanley (calf) and Josh King (hamstring), remain absent.
"We'll keep working at it and hopefully both won't be too far away on Saturday," said Bowyer.
"We are stretched for numbers, I think we had five out injured on Wednesday night, and then we added two more to the injury list.
"So it is great to add Alex Baptiste and Jay Spearing back into the fold."
Bowyer could be tempted to freshen up his squad once more for the visit to the capital, but with competition fierce, the players are all eager to be involved.
"It is a great environment to be working in," added the Rovers boss. "I think you've seen the players thrive on it. They've not ducked it or been afraid of it, they've took the competition on.
"From the goalkeeper right up to our attackers, the competition is there and everybody knows that they can't take their foot off the pedal."
Tickets for Saturday's match will go off sale at Ewood at 4pm this Friday. After that supporters can gain admission cash only from the South Stand Ticket Office.
