Adam Henley was handed the perfect early birthday present as Wales claimed a famous victory over Belgium in their Euro 2016 qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium.
On his 50th appearance for his country, Gareth Bale scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half to secure three precious points for Chris Coleman’s side.
The win moved Wales three points clear of their opponents at the top of Group B and a giant step closer to qualifying for their first major tournament finals in 57 years.
Despite missing out on a maiden cap for the Welsh senior side, unused sub Henley, who turned 21 on Sunday, was thrilled to have sampled such a special occasion first-hand.
The Rovers right-back said: “What a performance from the boys tonight and an incredible atmosphere. Cardiff was bouncing! Proud to have been a part of such a special Wales squad this week.”
