The Under-21s are back in action this Friday evening when they make the short journey to take on Chorley.

The match at Victory Park sees two former team-mates on opposing benches as Damien Johnson's Rovers face Matt Jansen's Chorley in the 7.30pm kick-off.

The development squad will be eager to get back to winning ways after tasting defeat for the first time this pre-season on Tuesday at Bamber Bridge, but the Under-21s lead coach knows it will be a good match for his young squad against the Vanarama National League North side.

"It will be another tough test and another step up for us," said Johnson.

"We'll be looking to put in an improved performance at Chorley.

"I haven't seen Matty in a while so I'm looking forward to catching up with him.

"He was assistant to Flitty so I'm delighted he got the job, it will be good to see him again."

All supporters are welcome at Victory Park, admission prices are £5 Adults, £3 Concessions. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.
