Ladies handed home start

16 July 2015

Rovers Ladies will kick-off the new FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division season at home to newly-promoted Loughborough Foxes.

The 2015-16 season opener will take place at the WEC Group Anchor Ground in Darwen on Sunday August 16th, kick-off 2pm.

Loughborough, who claimed the Midlands Division One title last season, are one of three new teams that Gemma Donnelly’s side will face in the forthcoming campaign.

Rovers’ second home game of the season, on Sunday September 6th, sees them come up against Nuneaton Town, who have switched from the Southern Division, with Coventry City going the other way.

The hotly-contested local derbies against Preston North End will both be played in midweek slots in September, before newly-promoted Guiseley Vixens, who won Northern Division One last season, visit the Anchor Ground on Sunday October 4th.

Rovers, who finished third in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division last term, conclude their campaign away to Nuneaton Town on Sunday March 6th.
