Rovers are delighted to announce that Chris Taylor will remain at Ewood Park for another season.

The 28-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract, keeping him at the club until June 2016.

After arriving on a free transfer from Millwall in May 2013, the midfielder has proved to be a valuable and versatile member of the squad, making 58 appearances to date.

Last season saw Taylor play a pivotal role in Rovers' run to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, scoring key goals in the wins over Charlton Athletic and Swansea City, however a groin injury ended his campaign prematurely, forcing him to miss the last seven games.

"I'm delighted that Tayls has signed up for another year," said Rovers boss Gary Bowyer. "There was interest in him from other clubs, but he has chosen to remain with us.

"He is hugely popular amongst the other lads and his displays last season - particularly in the FA Cup - show how important he is to us."
