Gary Bowyer was pleased to see Tommy Spurr back in action earlier in the week.
The defender hasn't featured for the first team this season due to a troublesome groin injury, but after coming through an hour for the development squad on Monday night, the Rovers boss hopes Spurr is well on the road to recovery.
"To see him back out on the pitch and having an hour of football was very good for him," Bowyer told Rovers Player,
"But we can't get carried away and can't raise any expectation levels.
"We are not going to rush him, he's had a couple of set-backs along the way so we are going to allow to take as long as he needs to make sure he is 100% right.
"We are delighted with the hour he got and now he's got to build on that - probably on Monday again for the Under-21s, and enhance the minutes that he's had this week."
