Tough calls to make

Boss Gary Bowyer admits he has a huge selection dilemma on his hands ahead of Sunday's 2.00pm match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The performance of those who featured in the FA Cup win over Charlton Athletic, plus the availability of several first team members after injury, illness and suspension means the manager has plenty to ponder for the Ewood encounter.

Corry Evans is available after serving his two-match suspension, as is Alex Baptiste who was ineligible to play in the FA Cup.

Grant Hanley has recovered from tonsilitis, Josh King is available after illness and Markus Olsson is fit again after the leg injury sustained in the draw with Middlesbrough.

"There are still one or two that have been carrying the effects of the bug that has been flying around, but hopefully come the weekend it could lead to probably the toughest decision since we've been in charge," the manager told Rovers Players.

"We won at Charlton and our leading two goalscorers didn't play. They are both fit so it is going to be really interesting because the pair that played up there - Dunny and Browny - were excellent. So that is one massive dilemma for us.

"I thought the changes that we made and the lads that came in were tremendous.
All the way through the squad we've got tough calls to make. But the massive positive is that because we've got these tough calls it shows the progress that has been made at the football club in terms of the recruitment."

The only two players who are likely to miss the weekend match with Wolves are Tommy Spurr and Jason Lowe.

Spurr is on the road to recovery from his groin injury but won't feature, whilst Lowe is making good progress from his foot injury.

Bowyer added: "Jason Lowe has made great progress this week so we'll have a look at him over the two days before Sunday.

"Along with Tommy, he would probably be the only one that would be missing."
